Hey, guys. This is my cat Paul.
He ran away from home.
Recently, my husband moved up to Wisconsin for work, and took my cat with him. The other night, he ran out while the door was open, and ran off into the woods.
There’s been no sign of him.
Please, spread this. If you live in the Mukwonago area, keep an eye out for him. He’s a large male orange tabby, and will answer to the sound of his name. He also goes crazy for cat treats (I’ve trained him to stand up for them.)
If you see him, call the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha at (262) 542-8851. You can also drop me a message, too.
Please boost this, if you or any of your followers live in the Mukwonago/Waukesha area.

Still no sign of him. Please keep reblogging. Your support means a lot to me.

sunshinemena:

I just got off the site. I had a massive anxiety attack and I remember seeing chesca’s facebook post last night and since imalive.org was busy they suggested this page and I got help. The listener was super helpful and you never know when you might need help.

This was the second time I’ve had an attack in my life and it was definitely more intense and I’m really glad there are resources like this to help out in times of need. Thank God for the internet.

So don’t be afraid to share, you never know who you end up helping.

I feel like this should be pretty self-explanatory. I’m drawing these for a zine at my college (and they have a tumblr! lips-appstate.tumblr.com!), but submissions are due today, so they’re a bit more rushed than I would have liked.

I tried to be inclusive and not-shitty. Hopefully I succeeded at that. There are more of these I’d like to draw, but like I said, time limitations :P

Lovely reminders!

Friends: Facebook has been limiting the number of fans who see each post, shrinking it down to the lower single percentages. It appears they want pages to pay to post. This is understandable—they’re a company and need to keep shareholders happy. But my fans clicked “like” because they presumably WANT to see our funnies, so don’t get shut out!
If you don’t want to miss the fun, make sure you turn on “Get Notifications.” Go to Oh Myyy and click the “Liked” box then select “Get Notifications.” Do it on my page George Takei as well. Thanks — Uncle George http://ift.tt/1hVAWFA

"I have gotten one question repeatedly from young men. These are guys who liked the book, but they are honestly confused. They ask me why Melinda was so upset about being raped.
The first dozen times I heard this, I was horrified. But I heard it over and over again. I realized that many young men are not being taught the impact that sexual assault has on a woman. They are inundated by sexual imagery in the media, and often come to the (incorrect) conclusion that having sex is not a big deal. This, no doubt, is why the number of sexual assaults is so high."

Laurie Halse Anderson, author of Speak, on the question “Have any readers ever asked questions that shocked you?”

Read that again. Read it again, and again, and again. Over and over guys have asked her why Melinda was so upset about being raped. This is a girl who went to a party with friends. She was thirteen. She had a drink, because everyone else was. And a senior held her down and raped her while she was too drunk to get away.

And guys don’t understand why she was upset.

Read that again and then come back and tell me again why I should just shut up and take a joke when a comedian blows off rape as a big deal, or women’s bodies are casually treated as commodities in media. Remind me why I shouldn’t care about the very real harm that society’s treatment of women and sexual assault does.
