dogcitypress:

-Available to pre-order now-
You knew it was coming, but now we’re finally able to announce officially that Dog City issue #3 is on the horizon!
Even more exciting is that issue #3 will be available in just about 3 weeks! We’re launching this issue at a live event on September 5th, and we’ll be releasing more details about that soon. We are very excited about this, and we hope you are too.
And you should be excited, because Dog City 3 will feature new comics by:
Sophie Goldstein,
Caitlin Rose Boyle,
Luke Healy,
Simon Reinhardt,
Juan Fernandez,
Amelia Onorato,
Allison Banister and Tom O’Brien with a collaborative mini,
Iris Yan,
D. Rinylo,
(and MORE!)
Issue #3 will also feature prints and posters by Laurel Lynne Leake and Steven Krall.
Perhaps most excitingly, issue #3 will be reprinting a selection of strips from the now-forgotten newspaper series Who’s Zoo, which has been restored and compiled by Reilly Hadden!
All of this will, of course, come packaged in a screen-printed cardboard box!
The best news of all is that you can pre-order your copy of Dog City issue #3 right now. We highly recommend pre-ordering a copy as our issues are all hand-made and produced in VERY LIMITED quantities. Once this thing sells out, we will not be making any more.
Be sure to follow us here, or check back over the coming weeks, for posts spotlighting issue #3’s creators, and previews of the comics you’ll find inside of issue #3!
Woof woof!

Received my Kickstarter rewards from my spirit animal and BFF snakesanddaggers today. There are so many stories in this book that I saw WIP shots of but next got to read (hello Fight City). I can’t wait to finish my own work for the day so I can sit down with this and some tea. <3
(Also received and pictured is my Catsup shirt from threadless. It was a good day for mail!)

True story from a day-in-the-life. Here’s a piece of advice. When you contact someone to do work for you, don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to decide whether your money is worth having to deal with creepy subtext in your messages to them. >:I

Hey Everyone! I’m still trying to catch up and keep consistent on the Internet, but I wanted to invite you all to be apart of a new comic anthology/zine I’m publishing called Restless Minds.
I’m hoping to fill this thing full of Comics and Illustrations!
What is Restless Mindsyou ask? That’s an excellent question! I suffer from anxiety and wanted to create a comics anthology dealing with artists overcoming their own personal anxieties, worries, and fears to create the things they love.
Length: 1-4 Pages.
Dimensions: 5.5” 8.5” portrait (Safe area 5” x 8”. Full bleed 5.75” x 8.75”)
FULL COLOR or BLACK & WHITE with COLOR (At least one color please, I’m aiming for this to be a colorful book).
Resolution: 300 DPI or higher!
File Format: PSD, TIFF, or JPEG.
Deadline: Monday, September 15th!

DEBUTING: Alternative Press Expo 2014! (October).

I’m hoping to put together an awesome book that not only shows everyone’s talents, but brings a positive message of overcoming personal obstacles to create amazing works of art. This means a lot to me and hopefully it resonates with you as well.

For submissions included in the book, I’ll be compensating each artist with 2 copies of the book (one for you and a friend). I’ll also be donating some books to local organizations in San Diego that deal with Anxiety and Depression, such as the Center for Understanding and Treating Anxiety @ SDSU.

Send submissions or questions to: uppermindink@yahoo.com

Please Share and Reblog!
Thanks!

Juston is one of my very best friends and I’m so proud of him for putting together his first anthology. I’m going to submit to this and I hope you do too!

Tonight in Ferguson, Mo. Even CNN is calling out police brutality.

We are watching history unfold. Do not stand down. Spread the word.
